Drawing and sketching are a fundamental part of human expression, these skills are both useful and crucial to artistic understanding, and you need very  little to start, just something to make a mark, and something to put the marks on!

Drawing skills are an important practise for most artists, whatever their discipline. Our drawing courses are designed to hone your skills in observation. Learning to simplify is an important artistic skill, allowing you to express a subject in just a few lines!  From this basis we can build on our drawing skills, prepare for a painting, and sketch ideas freely.
Using actual objects rather than photographs where possible, learning and practising techniques in various media to find other forms of expression, including some illustrative styles, mixed media, drawing shapes, hatched lines, tonal values, subtractive drawing.  Media includes graphite and pencil,  charcoal, pen and ink, pastel.
