Sumi-E is a traditional Japanese art form painting motifs from nature and the natural world, using just one brush and black ink on white paper. In this class we will use some of these ideas, the painting style is using simple fluid lines in one movement where possible. With no underdrawing, it’s a great exercise in committing to line, practising mark making and brush control to create some wonderful images in monochrome.
